Boy cries “Hello World”, Internet yawns in response

Hello World.  Those two words have been used in programming since the early days of computing and have ever since been used to signify the lowest common denominator for entry level programming. Quite a bit of history surrounds this simple phrase, so I encourage you to give this great wiki article a read if you are interested.  The latest (and slightly humorous) use I noticed while surfing the other day can be found on Engadget here.

What does all this mean you ask?  Well, I have decided to start a blog (I know, yawn…) in which to document several things including my goals and journey over the next year of my life. I have several interests including youth group volunteer work, camping, hiking, cycling and computing, so these these things are likely to pop up on this blog from time to time.  I have a fair amount of work-related travel to both interesting and boring places coming up over the next year that will likely be posted here as well.  If nothing else, it will be self-therapeutic.

If any of this interests you, stay tuned and read along. If not, then keep channel surfing until you find something better…lord knows that there can only be upside from here.
